Sister
Libraries é
uma iniciativa promovida pelo fórum NAPLE –
National Authorities on Public Libraries in
Europe,
que tem por objetivo fomentar a cooperação entre bibliotecas de diferentes
países europeus, em áreas de interesse comum.
Em Portugal, até ao momento, participam nesta iniciativa as
bibliotecas municipais de Arcos de Valdevez, Aveiro, Castro Marim,
Lousada, Torres Novas e Valença.
No âmbito deste programa, foram já estabelecidas as seguintes
parcerias:

Biblioteca Municipal de Valença – Biblioteca Pública de Sant Joan de Vilatorrada «Cal Gallifa» (Espanha)

Biblioteca Municipal de Lousada – Biblioteca Torrente Ballester (Salamanca, Espanha)

Biblioteca Municipal de Torres Novas – Biblioteca Pública de Piran (Eslovénia)

Biblioteca Municipal de Torres Novas – Biblioteca Estatal de Ciudad Real (Espanha)
Fruto da parceria estabelecida entre a Biblioteca
Municipal de Aveiro e a Biblioteca Pública de
Cracóvia, ambas a bibliotecas realizaram um conjunto de fotografias no
espaço da biblioteca, tendo por base as capas de livros das suas
coleções. As fotografias realizadas pela Biblioteca Municipal de
Aveiro podem ser vistas na sua página de Facebook e as da Biblioteca Pública de Cracóvia podem também ser vistas
online.
